12–16 May 2025 | Telšiai, Lithuania
The second international meeting of the Nordplus Junior “Our Baltic Sea” project took place in Telšiai, Lithuania, bringing together students and teachers from Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. The week was filled with collaborative learning, cultural exchange, and environmental awareness—all centered around the shared values of sustainability.

The Lithuanian hosts from Telšiai Žemaitė Gymnasium welcomed our meeting participants with warmth and enthusiasm. The opening ceremony included introductions, icebreaker activities, and a presentation of the week’s agenda.
During the week, students participated in workshops focused on the Baltic Sea ecosystem, pollution challenges, and sustainable practices. Students collaborated on presentations and shared insights from their home countries. A creative session allowed them to design posters and digital content promoting environmental awareness.
The meeting participants explored local landmarks, and participated in traditional Lithuanian crafts. A guided tour of Telšiai revealed the town’s rich history and connection to the Baltic region. An excursion to the Baltic Sea coast provided hands-on learning about coastal biodiversity and conservation. Students conducted field observations and reflected on the importance of protecting marine environments. The final day included a wrap-up session, student reflections, and a festive farewell event with music, dancing, and shared meals.
