Baltic Sea Day event 2024: A Finnish BSP Camp in Vaasa

In the Kvarken Archipelago and on the Swedish High Coast

In spring 2024 the BSP coordinators decided that the BSP will hold Baltic Sea Day every year on the last Thursday in August. Moreover, the BSP coordinators decided that there will be a BSP conference every year on and around Baltic Sea Day, with the BSP countries taking turns in hosting this conference. Whenever possible, the BSP conference on Baltic Sea Day shall be associated to a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

So, around Baltic Sea Day 2024, it was Vaasa in western Finland where the first Baltic Sea Day conference was held for participants from everywhere in the BSP.

Vaasa is a town of 68,000 in western Finland, and it is close the the Kvarken Archipelago, a UNESCO World Heritage Site on both sides of the Baltic Sea in Finland and in Sweden.

Vaasan lyseon lukio was the hosting school, with Mika Jokiaho as the conference coordinator.
